About Divorce Financial Experts
Looking for an expert to navigate the finances during a divorce?
Divorce Financial Experts exists to help you during this difficult time. Call us today to speak to a consultant.
Most importantly, we provide clients with the tools and knowledge to ensure them that they understand the financial ramifications of ALL division of assets, liabilities, income and expenses. We also consider and focus on our client's ability to maintain the liquidity/cash flow to afford the optimal lifestyle after their divorce is settled.
A common misconception clients have, is assuming that changes can be made to any and all parts of a divorce decree after it has been approved and filed by the court. Making substantial change(s) later to a signed and filed divorce decree/marital settlement agreement can be difficult and expensive if BOTH parties don't agree to the change(s). This is of the utmost importance when considering what has been agreed to financially. In most cases, nothing can be done to change the financial decisions listed in a divorce decree, after the fact. Therefore, helping a client understand their financial situation before, during and after the divorce can save both money and frustration in the future.
About our President and Founder
Cedric Muduryan began his career in accounting, and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1996. As an example of his dedication, ability, and work ethic, he passed all four sections of the CPA examination on his first attempt, making him one of only 4% in the country to do so that year.
Cedric is a Certified Public Accountant, not a Certified Financial Planner, thus, he does not sell financial products (e.g. life insurance, stocks). This further provides him with the ability to be objective and focused when working with clients on the financial issues of their divorce.
He has also obtained his qualification as a mediator in Illinois and as a financial member of collaborative law teams. Cedric's most recent credential is the newly introduced title of Accredited Divorce Financial Analyst (ADFA). This certification is issued by the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA) and is their highest level of qualification available.
He has provided expert testimony for trials and exhibits that were used in court and included as addendums to marital settlement agreements. He has also been retained to calculate annual "true-up" calculations of child support and maintenance payments for any necessary post-decree adjustments.
His passion for the complexity of financial issues caused by divorce has come through his own personal experience with divorce, as well as seeing and understanding the financial turmoil others have endured by making the wrong financial decisions when going through the divorce process. This was the impetus for him to seek and become a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).
Cedric's goal is to assist others going through the difficult process of divorce, and to provide them with a full understanding of their financial situation, before financially detrimental decisions are agreed to, and "set in stone", once filed with the court.
In helping others avoid this outcome, these relationships have provided him with first hand experience with attorneys, mediators, court appointed therapists, 604(b) evaluators, divorce decrees, joint parenting agreements, financial affidavits, subpoenas, depositions, legal motions, courtroom activities, and forensic accounting of discovery documents. This enables him to bring a holistic approach to better serve his clients when analyzing the specific financial issues of divorce.
